History
Involved in the I.T. industry since 1992, Clones UK have evolved
from an IBM Clone PC distributer, into a specialist supplier of
Tier 1 notebook spares and accessories. Our insight and expertise
in the complicated mobile industry has placed us as a leading supplier
for businesses, maintenance companies and end users. Our Portsmouth
holdings stock millions of tier one service parts to repair and
upgrade the main market leading corporate notebooks and laptops.
We provide services and parts to businesses, local government, education,
Health Service, resellers, charities, end users, maintenance companies,
insurance companies and OEM's.
Notebook
and Laptop parts
Unlike most suppliers who advertise, we do
hold stock of spares for Tier 1 and other popular branded laptops.
These parts are available instantly and levels are constantly restocked.
Where parts are not available from stock, they can be sourced within
days from our network of approved suppliers. We are completely familiar
with the different models and carry the latest part number lists
from manufacturers. We can identify your part or recommend an approved
replacement or equivalent one. We excel at supplying Tier 1 parts
when they are not available or when models are no longer supported
by the manufacturer. When common faults are identified, parts are
warehoused for times when units are out of warranty. This ensures
we can support models for extended periods.
Notebook
and Laptop sales
We sell complete laptops and notebooks to all. In the process
of acquiring our stock of spares, not only do we buy individual
parts, we also buy and strip for spares complete units. These may
be new or used machines. Many may be ' end of line ', ex-lease,
surplus stock, ex-demo or ' open boxed ' . These are sometimes surplus
to our parts requirements and so are available for sale as refurbished
items.

UK Engineering and Repairs
With experienced engineers and access to our huge stock
of Tier 1 spares and accessories, our engineering department offers
an unbeatable notebook service facility. We can repair all Tier
1 notebooks and upgrade to the customers requirements, even if the
accessory or option isn't available as an off-the-shelf spare.
We
do not outsource work. We repair ' in house '. We provide maintenance
for end users, businesses, many outside I.T. and insurance companies
as well as government / council establishments. We are very much
aware that down time is important and aim for a 3-4 day turnaround
on all repairs, providing parts are in stock.
Our
in house engineering facility can produce custom drive solutions
and processor upgrades to extend the working life and enhance the
original manufacturers design. With specialist test equipment installed,
we can also test and diagnose faults in parts without needing the
actual notebook the parts are designed for. Where appropriate, we
use OEM software diagnostics to ensure that the correct part is
tested in the correct way.
